Mind Chicago is thrilled to partner with Everstone Middle School to offer our OMG (Only Making Gains) DBT Skills Group, designed specifically for Everstone middle schoolers! Facilitated by parent-favorite therapist Naomi Kaplan, LCSW, this warm and engaging 5-session group helps students navigate big feelings, stress, and everyday challenges in a supportive, hands-on environment. Running weekly from October 5th to November 9th for 60 minutes during the Monday lunch period (12p-1p), the group will focus on practical Emotional Regulation strategies—equipping your middle schooler with lifelong tools to manage emotions, build confidence, and thrive. Parents receive weekly updates on the new skills kids are learning and how to practice at home!

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for middle schoolers, Emotion Regulation strategies focus on practical, age-appropriate tools to help students recognize, understand, and manage big feelings before they become overwhelming. Kids learn to read their body's emotional warning signs, separate real events from stressful assumptions, strengthen problem-solving skills, and build daily resilience.
