Part-Time Child & Family Therapist (1099 Contractor)

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Mind Chicago is seeking a part-time, 1099 contract clinician with meaningful training and experience in one or more of the following contextual and behavioral therapies:
Parent Management Training (PMT)
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) & Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
Our highest need is for clinicians well-practiced in some version of PMT (e.g., PCIT, BEST, Kazdin PMT). Clinicians with additional training in PCIT, DBT, or related evidence-based models are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our clinicians specialize in working with children ages 2–15 and their parents. We are especially interested in therapists who feel confident working directly with caregivers, enjoy collaborating with families, and genuinely love working with young children.
REQUIREMENTS
Illinois-licensed: LCPC, LCSW, PsyD, or PhD
Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience
Experience providing parent-focused and/or exposure-based interventions
Comfort providing both in-office and virtual sessions
POSITION DETAILS
Status: Part-time, 1099 independent contractor
Caseload Expectations:
Minimum of 5 completed client sessions per week
Requires maintaining approximately 7 active clients to account for cancellations
Location: In-office at our Ravenswood location (mix of virtual and in-person sessions)
SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Contract clinicians must offer in-person availability during at least two of the following blocks:
Tuesdays: 5:30p - 8:30p
Wednesdays: 5:30p - 8:30p
Thursdays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Fridays: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 4:30 PM – 8:30 PM or 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM or 10:30 – 2:30p
Sundays: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM or 10:30 – 2:30p
Sessions may be conducted in-office and/or virtually during these times.
TRAINING, SUPPORT, AND CONSULTATION
While this role does not include employee benefits, Mind Chicago is committed to supporting contractor clinicians through high-quality clinical resources:
Initial training related to the role and opportunity to join other trainings
Access to individual consultation
Option to participate in group consultation
Employer-paid digital note-taking system, significantly reducing documentation time (saving clinicians approximately 3+ hours per week for full-time employees)
Option to participate in employer-sponsored networking events to build your reputation and fingerprint as a clinician in the community
Option to join our fun Mind Chicago community activities (i.e., pickleball, brunch, etc).
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT CONTRACT STATUS
This is a 1099 independent contractor position and does not include:
Health insurance or other employee benefits
Paid time off
Professional development or CEU reimbursement
Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, liability insurance, and licensure requirements.
